Air Brake Parts Brake Slack Adjuster Brake Regulator for Railway Car

 

Brief introduction:
Slack adjuster is also known as automatic brake shoe clearance regulator. It is an important part of the truck braking rigging device. When the brake shoes are worn and the clearance between brake shoe and wheel thread increases, the slack adjuster will automatically shorten and adjust the clearance between brake shoe and wheel thread to the normal range; When the new brake shoe is replaced, the clearance becomes smaller, and the slack adjuster automatically extends to adjust the clearance to the normal range, so as to keep the piston stroke of the brake cylinder within the specified range.
 
At present, the commonly used slack adjuster for freight cars in China are ST1-600 and ST2-250 two-way slack adjusters, both of which are controlled by levers. The main difference is the extension length of screw: ST1-600 type’s extension length is 600 mm, while ST2-250’s is 250 mm. ST1-600 type slack adjuster is generally installed at the position of the upper pull rod of the original vehicle, and ST2-250 slack adjuster is generally installed at the position of the middle pull rod in the original vehicle. ST brake slack adjuster has two-way adjustment function, and adopts non self-locking threaded mechanical structure. It has features of reliable function, compact mechanism, rapid action and no interference to air braking.
