Brief introduction:
KMF72 Coal hopper wagon is upgraded on the basis of KM70 coal hopper car by adding one additional air control system, which could allow several wagons unloading the coals at the same time, greatly improving the unloading efficiency.
The added air control device is arranged on the upper part of the traction beam at the position two end of the hopper wagon. To ensure driving safety and not affecting the original air brake system, an independent train pipeline is installed to supply air to the air control unloading device. The door opening mechanism at the bottom of the hopper is controlled by the air control device to open and close the bottom doors, realize unloading coals automatically and the synchronous unloading of the whole train.
The air source of the added unloading device could be from locomotive or ground air source. An appropriate length or braided brake hose assembly is installed at the end of the wagon to connect with the air supply.
The hopper wagon is consisted of under frame, bottom doors, bottom door opening and closing mechanism, air control pipeline device, bogie, braking device and coupler draft gear device. The unloading ports are set on both sides of the vehicle bottom and there are 4 unloading hatches, which can be unloaded quickly by air control or by manual. The under frame and the bottom doors are all welded steel structure. It adopt K6 casting bogies, 120 type air brake control valve, NSW type hand brake, No. 17 coupler and MT-2 draft gear.
